S Golden July Days | Some Little Good

Golden July Days

“The true way to live is to enjoy every moment as it passes, and surely it is in the everyday things around us that the beauty of life lies.”
Laura Ingalls Wilder

We have been enjoying these golden, July days this summer by finding beauty in the little everyday things . . .

In the mornings, Kayleigh the cat has been keeping us company, which has given us plenty of opportunities to admire her beautiful, grass green eyes.

There has been lots of weeding and watering going on in the garden as well, and our sunflowers have finally bloomed, revealing a rich sunburst of colors.

In the kitchen, we have been busy canning lots of juicy peaches.
Watching rows of amber jars grow in rank is so satisfying!

In the shop we have been adding new Christmas designs and are running Christmas in July sales all month long. This week all Christmas cards are 15% off through Sunday (7/24/2022) .

Hot afternoons are made for good books! Some of our summer reads have included Doctor Thorne, which begins in July 1885. It is always a pleasure when a story just happens to match the season you are in.

Our evenings have been kept lively playing lots of Clue together as a family and re-learning the rules for Yahtzee.  Many a discussion on who is going to win the Tour De France this year is often thrown into the mix . . . Vive le Tour!

Ending our days with some homemade, chocolate ice cream in a gluten-free sugar cone has made our summer evenings taste all the sweeter!

All in all these everyday moments have been adding up to a slow-paced July that we wouldn't trade for the world.
